FMB STRONG
Organization Overview
Founded shortly after Hurricane Ian with the mission of helping the displaced residents of Fort Myers Beach, we have evolved into a significant community resource for the those in need. Operating out of our center at 820 Buttonwood Drive, FMB Strong provides food, supplies and other relief services to the needy in the 33931-zip code. A great amount of our food comes from our partnerships with Harry Chapin, Publix, and the Midwest Food Bank. What we cannot procure from them we purchase. Items such as snacks, water, Gatorade, hygiene products, paper goods, and cleaning supplies are costly and in great demand. We currently service 489 local families per month. You would think our numbers would be dropping this far out from Hurricane Ian; however, they are on the rise with people now having to pay rent in FEMA trailers at rates that are unrealistic as I'm sure you are aware. Also, inflationary pressures affecting food prices are driving many to our facility with numbers increasing daily.
