Neighborhood Health Clinic
Organization Overview
At Neighborhood Health Clinic, our mission is to deliver quality medical care to low-income, working but uninsured Collier County adults, using a professional volunteer staff and funded by private philanthropy. Since opening in 1999 through the vision of founders Dr. William P. and Nancy Lascheid, the Clinic has been the safety net of the safety nets—providing compassionate, comprehensive care to those in need.
Every patient begins their journey by meeting with a volunteer intake specialist to confirm they meet our qualification criteria: ages 19–64, living in Collier County, working at least 80 hours per month, uninsured, and earning at or below 300% of the Federal Poverty Level.
Powered by more than 700 volunteers, including over 400 licensed physicians, nurses, and dentists, and 300 non-medical volunteers, we provide care across more than 25 medical and specialties including dentistry, gynecology, radiology and more. With all care being on one campus, patients can see their primary and specialty physician, have diagnostic lab draws, and receive medications. Educational opportunities round out the care to ensure the highest quality of health for patients facing chronic conditions. All care is delivered at no cost to the patient.
In 2024, our volunteers facilitated over 12,000 visits and 30,000 procedures, and distributed more than $6 million in retail value of medications. The Clinic proudly boasts a 95% medication compliancy, when the national average is just over 50%. With a current annual budget of $3.8 million, the Clinic is proud to spend 94 cents of every donated dollar directly on patient care.
With services driven by the needs of our patients and sustained entirely through private philanthropy and medical volunteers, we are proud to be a place where neighbors help neighbors achieve their optimal health.
