Organization Overview
Open Doors Preschools is the largest licensed childcare provider in Lee County: five Gold Seal schools in Lehigh Acres, Cape Coral, Daniels Parkway and Estero, about 160 employees, and 21 years in business. Many of our families rely on School Readiness to afford care. We are a certified Great Place to Work, and our founder, a third-generation early childhood educator, is the SBDC at FGCU's 2026 Distinguished Entrepreneur of the Year.
We call our goal the 10,000 Women initiative: empower 10,000 women through Open Doors by 2035, starting with the moms who count on us to get to work, then the women who make teaching young children a career of choice rather than chance.
Childcare is infrastructure. Without it, people cannot show up, and every employer in Southwest Florida pays for that in callouts, turnover and jobs that stay open. For 2026 the federal 45F credit returns 40 to 50 percent of what a business spends on childcare for its employees, and contracting with a licensed provider qualifies. Ask us about it.
