Organization Overview
Founded in 1967, YMCA of Southwest Florida has been a
trusted community partner for close to six decades. Today,
we proudly serve over 90,000 individuals each year across
Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, Lee, Hendry, Glades, and
DeSoto counties, making a meaningful impact on the lives
of children, families, and seniors.
Our footprint includes 10 wellness facilities, four Early
Learning Academies, and two charter middle schools,
along with numerous summer camp and afterschool sites.
Through extensive outreach programs, we reach beyond
our walls to meet the needs of underserved communities.
As a cause-driven organization, we are committed to youth
development, healthy living, and social responsibility. We
create pathways to opportunity for children and teens
through high-quality education programs, promote health
innovation to reduce chronic disease and healthcare costs,
and provide swim lessons and water safety programs to
prevent drowning. Through our food insecurity initiatives,
we serve nutritious meals and snacks to thousands of
children and families annually, ensuring no one in our
community goes hungry.
By empowering youth, improving well-being, and
strengthening community connections, the YMCA of
Southwest Florida continues to create meaningful, lasting
change across the region.
