Alliance for the Arts Sustained Minimal Damage from Hurricane Ian

Will Reopen October 11th.

Fort Myers, FL (Oct 1, 2022)- The Alliance for the Arts fared well. Preparations were taken to minimize damage to technology, supplies and ensure the safety of the artwork on display.

The Alliance’s campus has sustained damage; including the ArtsPark sculptures, Amphitheatre, landscaping, roof, and windows.

The Alliance will remain closed through October 10th, to allow our staff to deal with the impact of the storm and to clean up the grounds. We are working diligently with our City and County government to determine how we can best be of assistance for relief efforts for our community in this time of crisis.

The October Exhibition featuring Joan Sonnenberg will be rescheduled for December. Theatre performances of Aladdin and The Piano Lesson will be rescheduled to a later date. We are in the process of evaluating the safety of our artists and instructors. Classes will resume as soon as possible. Events schedules are being evaluated and postponements will be on our website and social media channels.

The Alliance will continue to serve our community and look forward to seeing you all again. Fort Myers is strong and resilient!  For the most up to date information, check our website at artinlee.org.
