SWFL Inc. Team Brings Southwest Florida’s Workforce Priorities to Talent Pipeline Management Summit
SWFL Inc. Team Brings Southwest Florida’s Workforce Priorities to National Talent Pipeline Management Summit
Workforce development leaders from across the country gathered in Washington, D.C., September 29–30 for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s 7th annual Talent Pipeline Management® (TPM) National Learning Network Summit, and SWFL Inc. was there to bring Southwest Florida’s workforce priorities into the conversation.
SWFL Inc. team members Tiffany Esposito, Jessica Hoover and Melanie Schmees joined more than 150 workforce leaders representing more than 4,000 employers from across the United States and Canada for two days of general sessions, hands-on breakouts and peer learning focused on strengthening employer-led workforce solutions.
The Summit reinforced an important principle that will continue to guide SWFL Inc.’s workforce initiatives: the communities seeing the strongest workforce results are those where employers help lead the work and outcomes are tracked from the beginning.
Moving from Programs to Employer-Led Systems
A recurring theme throughout the Summit was the need to move beyond disconnected workforce programs and toward coordinated, employer-led regional systems.
For Southwest Florida, that means bringing employers, educators and public partners together around shared workforce needs, common demand signals and measurable goals.
“Good programs aren't enough,” was a key takeaway from sessions focused on co-designing solutions and building regional workforce systems. Sustainable progress requires partners to work together to understand what employers need and build solutions around those needs.
This approach aligns closely with SWFL Inc.’s ongoing work to strengthen workforce development across the region and ensure that initiatives are connected to the real-world needs of Southwest Florida employers.
Bringing National Insights Back to Southwest Florida
For SWFL Inc., attending the National Learning Network Summit was about more than learning what other communities are doing. It was an opportunity to bring national best practices back to Southwest Florida and continue building a workforce strategy grounded in employer demand, collaboration and measurable outcomes.
As SWFL Inc. continues its workforce initiatives, the lessons from Washington will help inform how the organization connects businesses, education and community partners around the talent Southwest Florida needs to grow.
The goal is clear: build a stronger regional workforce system where employers help define the need, partners work together on solutions, and progress can be measured.
That is how Southwest Florida can continue building the future of its economy, together.
