Engage in solution-based discussions at State of the Region on August 31

By: Tiffany Esposito, MBA, CCE, IOM, APR, President & CEO, SWFL Inc.

In June, SWFL Inc. announced our newest signature event: State of the Region. This event is the first public policy event to come to Southwest Florida. Hosted on Wednesday, August 31 from 8:00 a.m. to noon at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point, State of the Region will focus primarily on SWFL Inc.’s policy priorities which include workforce housing, water quality and workforce and talent development. It will also touch on a wide range of topics including transportation, infrastructure and the challenges the region faces.

Now, I’m excited to highlight the speakers and panelists from across Florida that will be present to discuss the trends, economics and policies that directly affect Southwest Florida's community. Our first speaker is LK Nandam, Florida Department of Transportation District One Secretary, and he will be providing an update on Southwest Florida’s transportation future. Nandam has over twenty years of experience in the transportation industry in both the private and public sectors. He is the statewide Pedestrian/Bicycle Coalition Safety Champion and is passionate about safety and making a difference for our communities.

Following our first speaker will be a Workforce Housing Panel featuring Matt Simmons of Maxwell, Hendry & Simmons, Danville Leadbetter of Soltura Development and Justin Thibaut of LSI Companies. Josh Goergen, SWFL Inc.’s own Government Relations Manager will be the moderator for this informative discussion on the direction of Southwest Florida’s future.

The event doesn’t end there, so I encourage you to head to SWFLinc.com/sotr for more information on our additional speakers and the event. I hope you’ll join us as we take a deep dive into these topics and have a solution-based discussion on how Southwest Florida can move forward to solve the problems our businesses are facing each day.

Tickets can also be purchased at SWFLinc.com/sotr. If you have any questions or are interested in sponsorship opportunities, don’t hesitate to reach out to Hannah Phillips, SWFL Inc.’s Director of Programs and Events, at [email protected].

If you can’t make it to State of the Region, we always welcome you to join in on the conversation and discuss how we can build a prosperous community. Contact me anytime at [email protected] if you’d like to start receiving legislative updates from our team via email. We send out advocacy updates every two weeks to keep you informed on the current issues impacting our region and how we can make a difference.
