By: Tiffany Esposito, MBA, CCE, IOM, APR, President & CEO, SWFL Inc.

This is no joke - the deadline is approaching to apply for the Leadership SWFL Class of 2022! To be considered for this immersive leadership program, applications must be received by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 1st.

Leadership SWFL, the region’s premier community immersion program dedicated to providing business professionals with a greater understanding of the community and creating a cohort of individuals ready to serve as effective leaders in the region, has helped Southwest Florida professionals dive deeper and lead stronger since 1999  So, if you’re looking to enjoy exclusive experiences, wanting to grow your network and are seeking a big-picture view of our region, I hope you’ll apply for the Leadership SWFL Class of 2022.

We’ve already accepted ten individuals to the class through early acceptance and encourage you to not miss this transformative opportunity! Applications to be considered for Leadership SWFL are still open, but limited spots remain. For more information and to submit your application, visit Applications are due by Friday, April 1, 2022.

Over eight months, Leadership SWFL fosters transformation among community champions with full day exclusive experiences. Hands-on opportunities offered through this immersive experience challenges participants to delve into crucial components spanning Southwest Florida and explore diverse perspectives. Nine, full-day class sessions and an overnight retreat for the program will run from May through December 2022. Sessions include special tours and in-depth discussions on the topics of crime and justice, economic development, education and the workforce, environment, government, healthcare, infrastructure, media and tourism.

One of my favorite parts of this program is how quickly it brings the class of participants together. On the first day of the retreat, everyone walks in looking a little nervous and maybe even skeptical about what they’ll gain from it. By dinner that night, these groups are the best of friends, laughing, swapping contact information and excited for the rest of the program.

We’re constantly expanding the reach of our trips and tours, but some of the most beloved tours the class takes include a back-of-the-house tour of the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa, a tour of Babcock Ranch (America’s first solar-powered town), a wading exploration of Estero Bay, and a behind-the-scenes look at the Bonita Springs Fire Control & Rescue District where participants try on gear, put out a controlled burn and even use the jaws of life.
